In reactivating the performance Augenmusik, twelve artists, writers, and "whatever individuals" will silently traverse the city of Ghent, each carrying a police emergency light. Beginning from twelve distinct locations—central points in Ghent’s main neighborhoods—they will trace individual paths, eventually converging at a single destination: the auditorium of the University of Ghent. The police emergency light, a powerful symbol of state authority and a signal of danger, is placed in the hands of individuals. Moving alone yet simultaneously through the city, the performers create an alternative form of public assembly, exploring the tension between power and freedom.
Routes of the performance: Twelve routes starting from central points in Ghent’s main neighborhoods and leading to the University of Ghent..
