I got a child at the very beginning of my career as an artist. As a young mother of a new-born and an artist, I got specifically marked by the process and period of breast-feeding, its physical, societal, institutional dimensions, everyday practicality and aesthetics. I am still struck by the limited common knowledge, level of acceptance and integration of this vital and natural process in the public sphere.

How can I artistically reflect and transform this status quo? How can I reveal the economical, legal and social relations around monetary and symbolic value of the mother milk, through an artistic, performative and participatory framework? And how can we imagine new societal ecologies via contemporary performative practices, namely participatory?
